Women On Wheels "WOW"


This event is part of the Original Bike Festival 2009 and will take place at Kirroughtree 17th May 2009.

Women On Wheels, is an event for women and girls of all ages, abilities, and cycling genres to come along to be inspired, learn and most importantly have fun!

Women's Skills Courses


Since we started the bike shop at Kirroughtree, we've witnessed a growing need for courses that cater for women in order to help them take their riding to the next level.

Our aim is to ensure that everyone has fun and achieves their own personal goals, all within a friendly and professionally run course.

Below is a sample itinerary of what you can expect from the course. Both days start at 10am and finish at 4pm.We expect to be on our saddles 4-5 hours each day.

The Cost: £105 course only or £199 with accommodation and food.

14th/15th March (full)

21/22nd March (full)

6/7th June (filling)

12/13th Sept

7/8th Nov

Sample itinerary:

Day 1

10am –Welcome & introductions including tea/coffee

10.30am – Bike set up, warm up – riders meet their instructor.

11.00 – 1pm – Skills training with instructor

1pm-1.45pm – Lunch (bring your own sandwich or onsite café will be open)

2pm – 4pm – Hit the trails with your instructor riding on the 7stanes or natural sections trail.

4pm – Home time

Day 2

10am –Meet at Thebreakpad tea/coffee and review previous day

10.15am-12.30 Hit the trails at Kirroughtree or option to use mini bus & trailer to bike at Glentrool

1230-1315 pm Lunch (may be out on the trail or at café)

1330-1530 Hit the trails at Kirroughtree

1530 Rider/instructor feedback, course evaluation and close

1600 Course finishes, home time
